Mealt Falls

On a visit to the Isle of Skye I visited Mealt Falls on the north-east part of the island.  The falls tumble 55 metres from Kilt Rock into the Sound of Raasay.  This painting was completed on my return to the studio.
‘Beyond the natural appearance of the waterfall, its symbolic meaning may be discovered as an emblem of continuous motion, an emblem of the world in which the elements change ceaselessly while its shape remains the same’ – Mme Lilian’s Briton-Guerry.
